Mall and retail security, from the car park to the loading dock
A mall runs on two clocks: shoppers by day, then cleaners, fit-out crews and deliveries around opening and closing, and an empty building to guard until morning. Yaqiz gives your security team a web console and an Android guard app to patrol every floor, control the service entrance, prove who is on shift and handle incidents, in one shopping centre or a chain of stores across Egypt and the Gulf.
Mall guard tours on every floor, night round included
Add each level (car-park basements included), upload its floor plan and pin QR checkpoints where trouble starts: fire exits, the loading dock, plant rooms, roof doors. Give each checkpoint its real location on the map, or by scanning it on the spot. Group checkpoints into patrol routes with their own time windows and days, including a closing round that runs past midnight. Guards scan in any order, and a scan counts only within the distance you allowed.
- Checklists of up to 20 items per checkpoint, such as “Shutters down”, each of which can require a photo or make one optional.
- Alarm-style reminders for guards, and supervisor alerts when a round is missed, not started on time or incomplete.
- Without signal, scans wait on the phone and are sent later.
The service entrance: contractors, deliveries, fit-out crews
Shoppers walk in freely; nobody should walk into the back of house that way. At the service entrance, the guard opens the Gate in the guard app to scan an invited contractor's QR pass, or registers a walk-in and hands over a QR card from your pool. Scanning the pass or card again on the way out checks the visitor out.
- Visitor types such as Contractor, Delivery and Vehicle, with fields you choose: car plate, who they visit, goods in and out.
- A do-not-admit list the guard cannot override; only the control room grants a one-time exception.
- The Android apps read Egyptian national IDs and driving licences, and passports from their machine-readable lines, filling in the number and name for staff to check and correct.
Shifts for busy weekends and quiet nights
Build weekly shifts per mall or store, such as a separate weekend shift with more guards and a night shift that crosses midnight. Guards clock in from the guard app only inside the site's zone, within the time allowed for their shift and with a live photo. Live attendance shows who is on duty, late, not clocked in or absent, refreshed every 30 seconds.
- Late clock-ins and absences reach supervisors as notifications.
- Turn on presence check-ins for a night shift with a lone guard: the guard is asked “Are you OK?” at the interval you set, and three misses in a row take the guard off duty and alert supervisors.
Theft, injuries and emergencies on the shop floor
Guards report theft, vandalism, suspicious activity, an after-hours intrusion, fire, a medical case or a safety hazard such as a spill, with up to 10 photos taken on the spot. Everyone who follows incidents at that mall is notified, and the console board tracks each case from Open to Resolved, with an assignee and a timeline.
- SOS: a double-tap and a 5-second countdown ring a siren on the phones of colleagues assigned to that site and raise a red banner in the console until the alert is closed.
- Push-to-talk voice clips on the guards' own phones, with a custom channel for a team such as the loading dock.
Patrols, visitors, shifts, presence check-ins, incidents, SOS, the walkie-talkie, reports and branding each depend on your plan.
Frequently asked questions
How does the location check work inside a mall?
Indoors the app keeps trying for up to 20 seconds, and you set each checkpoint's allowed distance to suit the building. GPS cannot tell floors apart, so each floor gets its own QR checkpoints. Where the phone cannot confirm its position, for example deep underground, the guard can skip that checkpoint with a reason, and the round is then recorded as incomplete for a supervisor to review.
Do shoppers have to register?
No. Visitor management covers only the people your staff register or invite: contractors, suppliers, drivers and visitors to the management office.
Can we run several malls or a chain of stores?
Yes. Each mall or store is a site with its own zone, checkpoints, shifts and time zone, and supervisors see only the sites assigned to them.
What can we hand to mall management?
Branded PDF reports of patrol rounds, checkpoint visits, attendance, incidents and visitors. Patrol reports also come as Excel or CSV, and attendance does too when your plan includes Attendance export.
