Live guard tracking: every on-duty guard on one map

Live guard tracking in Yaqiz, built in Egypt by KMK, shows where each of your guards is during their shift. The Android guard app sends the phone's GPS position from clock-in to clock-out, and the web console or Yaqiz Admin app draws every guard on a live satellite map. Each guard has a track history, and you're alerted when location updates stop or a guard leaves the site zone.

In the field: location is shared on duty only

Sharing runs from clock-in to clock-out; the server refuses positions from anyone without an open shift. The app sends a position about every 25 m moved, or roughly every 90 seconds when the guard stands still, rather than second by second. Once location is allowed all the time, sharing continues with the app closed, under a permanent notification. With no signal, up to 1,000 positions are kept on the phone and sent, with their original time, when the connection returns while the shift is open.

  • The guard agrees once at first launch and sees a "Your location is being shared" banner on duty.
  • Turning location off on duty brings up a "Turn your location on" screen within about 10 seconds.

In the office: track security guards on a live map

The Tracking page shows one pin per guard at their latest position, and pins move by themselves as new positions arrive. A pin turns grey after 10 minutes without a position, and its halo shows how precise the GPS was. Beside the map, "On duty now" lists each guard's name and site with a badge showing the age of their last position, teal while it is live, and a click opens their track. Supervisors see only the guards at their assigned sites, enforced in the database itself. The dashboard also has a live map card.

GPS tracking history for every guard

Pick Today, Yesterday, the last 7 days, or a custom date and time range within the last 90 days. The path is drawn as a line, with a timestamped list of its points below. There is no animated replay and no export. Track history is deleted automatically after your plan's retention period, 90 days by default.

"Location lost": when updates stop arriving

The server watches every on-duty guard. If no position arrives for 5 minutes, the guard and the supervisors watching that site get a "Location lost" alert. At 15 minutes the guard is suspended automatically and their shift is closed. Someone with permission then lifts the suspension from Users, and the guard clocks in again.

Geofence alerts when a guard leaves the site zone

When a position falls outside every site on the guard's shift (the drawn boundary plus a 50 m tolerance, or the radius circle), a red "You're outside the site zone" banner appears in the guard app within a minute or two. After 3 minutes outside, the guard and supervisors are notified. This alert never suspends anyone, and it pauses while the guard is responding to a colleague's SOS.

  • Both alerts appear in the console bell and arrive as push notifications, on phones and in the browser.
  • Users you allow can opt in to an "On duty" email, one per event.

Live tracking, track history and the location alerts depend on your plan, which also sets how long track history is kept; the "On duty" email alert needs email alerts in your plan too.

Frequently asked questions

Are guards tracked off duty?

No, only from clock-in to clock-out. The one exception is SOS, a separate feature: a guard raising or answering an SOS shares their position for 60 minutes at most.

What if a guard's phone loses signal?

Positions are kept on the phone and sent when the connection returns, while the shift is open. But the "Location lost" rule counts only what reaches the server, so 15 minutes without signal suspends the guard and closes the shift.

Which phones do I need?

An Android phone for each guard (the guard app is Android only), with location set to "Allow all the time"; some brands, such as Xiaomi, also need unrestricted battery use for the app. The office uses a web browser or Yaqiz Admin on Android.

Is a manager using Yaqiz Admin tracked?

No. Yaqiz Admin never collects location in the background, and the map shows only what the guard app sends. The only time it shares a manager's live position is when they tap "I'm on my way" during an SOS.
